Anyway, in a nice example of Simone and my thinking aligning, we quickly reckoned that it would be much simpler here to simply hire a car. So we asked for the finest cheapest car that any of the agencies there had and moments later (again, in proper English!) we were on our way in a Nissan something-or-other (Micra I think). It had been a while since I'd driven a manual, and that combined with driving on ...

The trail continues until it reaches a gravel road which you follow then continues uphill into a pine forest, reaching the highway just north of Siida. We got back from our walk at 9:15. Drove back through Ivalo to do the grocery shopping. Then drove to Napapiiri, Finnish for the Arctic Circle. Absolute contrast to crossing the Arctic Circle in Norway 8 days ago. Huge complex, no snow and so commercial - yuk. But this is where Santa lives and you can pay to have your photo taken with him. Posted cards that will go to Aus. with Santaland post mark! Left Rob and Rob to go to the Arkticum Museum at Rovaneimi . Great museum in 2 parts, ...
