... about 4 hours before we even got to jump, the nerves soon wore off. One of the helicopters got called out on a rescue so we were told there was a possibility we wouldn't even get to jump that day. (Those damn pilots, why must they insist of saving lives!). But luckily we all made it just in time, so after a long wait, we were finally strapped up and ready to fly (or.. ready to fall).

Thoughts on jumping out of a helicopter. Damn. Just.. ...

... cool breeze and walking around the flower trail, we rode the funicular back to Murren and took the train and cable car back in to Lauterbrunnen.

Just across the street from the cable car station is the railway station. We purchased our tickets for our trip to Paris on the 23rd and then rode the train up the east side of the valley to Wengen. This will be the site for a major ski race ...

... from Australia travelling Europe and jumping. This was a popular area because a gondola would take them up the mountain near their jumping site. They would do 6-8 jumps a day. A seasoned jumper has 150-200 jumps in his history and 600-700 skydives. ... blueberry tart and fresh coffee. So much for that apple in the pack which was to have been lunch.

While we ate, Ines began a fire in her outdoor stone oven and brought out a huge half-round of raclette cheese for later hikers. We compared with her the cost of a round of raclette here with that at City Market in Montrose..so sad! We were sorry to miss eating that right then, but had ours later in the day in the next ...
