Being my day off work I spent my time hiking up to the town of Wengen, which is around 1, 300 meters above sea level (Lauterbrunnen itself is around 800). There was a huge side of fries and a medium amount of salad. It was good but I had a hard time finishing it all (the bill was Ch$28).

After lunch I had a look at the other side of the small ...

... a night under a roof, rather than our wet tent, but it didn't end up being that much of a treat as staying in the tent cost almost as much. Indeed, we were talking with some Australians and since they had a car, which also has a charge if you are camping, it was cheaper for them to stay in the dorms there. Crazy. Also crazy was that absolutely everything had a pay as you go scheme, including hot water for dishes and even the power in the kitchen ...
