    Kashgar & Pamir

A travel blog entry by patrickinasia on May 14, 2015

... passes through the Chinese Pamir and supposedly is one of the most beautiful ones. We, 3 Chinese and 1 Canadian and myself, stayed in Tashkorgan on 3100m. Tashkorgan with its stone town and spectacular peaks could be a jewel and worth a long stay. However, the Chinese (of course) do not allow anything that's fun and completely banned hiking in the region. Chinese regulations really annoy me more and more and I'm more than ready to leave the country towards ...

... I noticed a couple who sounded like Australian tourists trying to get directions form a local. Through our past couple days, I noticed that while English is a main language in Singapore, many people still don`t speak it well or even at all. Lucky for them, I had been hording maps from each place we visited. I ran back to give them one that had the most tourist information on it (including hotels and shopping malls). Hopefully it helped! Eventually I made it back ...

Up early and breakfast at China Point Centre. Steamed bread and poached eggs!! Ummmmm. MRT to Harbour Front and cable car to Mount Faber. I shared a cabin with Wonder Woman. We then do the Mt. Faber loop walk in no time. Lovely easy weather. Hot but not too much and not too humid. That will change during the day. We catch the cable car back down to Sentosa and grab a Starbucks at 'Preying Mantis' Cafe, where I am not ...

... look at the city with the option of getting off whenever we feel like it, and if you do not want to do a lot of walking this is the way to go.

We are on the bus (on the top, out in the open) when the skies open and it pours down with rain. No warning drops, just a full scale torrent. I have my raincoat in the backpack but it is raining and blowing so hard that I cannot get it out of the bag. As the bus is moving we also cannot leave the ...

From Perth, that are basically 2 cheap routes to go to China and both with Scoot airline. The options are via Kuala Lumpur and Singapore City. I know KL is a very interesting city and the Petronas is a 'must see' attraction in every tourist's to do list but this time I've decided on S'pore. The key on this stopover was buying the 2 legs separately which allowed me a 24hrs lay over to check the city out. Enough time to see almost everything. And 'almost' means a return there is ...
