Today is Singapore's National day. Although we didn't do much leading up to the actually day, the day itself was very well rehearsed and it was exciting to see what they put together. ... They had arrived at the perfect time as Lynne had just put a bit of ginger in her tea.. Turns out that's not what you do with it! We ordered some noodles, rice and different buns to try. When they arrived at the table, we realised there was only chopsticks to eat it with! This was going to be entertaining especially since I'd never used them before. We stopped at various hotels to collect other tourists before being dropped off at the site for various tour bus companies. We were greeted by a lovely little man, ironically called 'Wee', who directed us to the queue where we were 'upgraded' to an orange FunVee bus tour with an orange and green route around the ...
We were going to sit somewhere and have a cool drink, but then decided that they were free in our hotel room and we were both exhausted from the long day. We repeated the journey there, in reverse: Skytrain, MRT and short walk, which also included a stop at McDonalds for dinner.
We had both had a fabulous day, despite the few niggles and were absolutely exhausted. We both knew we'd have a good night sleep, passing out soon after our heads hit our pillows.
Not much to report. Three hours to wait for our next flight. David's flight lethargy invigorated by a Hawks, st Kilda match playing on a large screen in the Qantas lounge. Not s bad stopover as far as he is concerned... Thank you to you all for following the blog . It was fun getting the odd comments too! Now looking forward no doubt to the enthusiastic Frankie welcome first thing tomorrow morning... Thank goodness our hairy daughter is still at home! Lots of love, ...
