Not bad at all for $10 - room for 3 people with tv, fan, ac and hot shower. Very clean, light room and quiet (our room is on the back). We had read reports that the ''boss'' is a pushy salesman. He did try it on a bit but he was friendly enough and polite with it. We decided to book a 4hr trip to the floating market through him (his sister was our driver) for 75,000 dong each and had a lovely morning - just the 3 of us. After the market we visited a 'factory' making rice noodles. This was a nice little bonus as we hadn't realised it was on the itinerary. We made our way back to Can Tho the long, but scenic way. You may well be able to find a cheaper deal down on the river front but this was convenient and proved to be reliable.

So we opted for Hotel 31 a couple of doors down - mainly because we couldn't be bothered to wander the streets in the pouring rain. Mind you, this is only the 3rd …

It took us fourteen hours, traveling by train, bus and taxi to get to the heart and soul of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho. We'd just eaten and were walking the river promenade back to our hotel to catch up on some sleep when I heard a pair of hellos coming from behind.

I knew it was someone wanting to sell us a boat trip to the floating …

Finally traveled into Vietnam - one of the countries iv been looking forward to the most. We had a four hour ride on the river boat along the huge Mekong River, stopping at the river checkpoints on the border to stamp out of Cambodia and into Vietnam. We arrived at a town called Chau Doc near the border and jumped straight on a bus for a 3 hour …

... buildings were perched on stilts above the water, and then onward back to the bus.

We were then shuttled to a "floating hotel" which was built in the river but wasn't exactly "floating", although it did have floating docks between rooms. The hotel was in a town near the border of Vietnam and Cambodia.

That night, as we sat eating dinner and conversing with fellow travelers, we were privileged to witness the ...

... here so I might aswell see as much as I can in the one full day I have!! The only downside was that Id need to get up at 5am!!! Ive got in later that that on a night out, but never got up at that time in my life (unless for a flight).
So managed to get up at 5am, and then the boat guy was late....typical!!
Turns out I wasnt gonna catch the sunrise anyway coz it was too foggy but the main reason to get up that hour was to catch the morning floating markets!!! ...
