Tunisia's white sandy beaches are perfect for relaxing days spent sunbathing on the beach, and as much as I love the tranquility of the beach days we had decided we wanted more out of our holiday than lazy days on the beach. So when an opportunity to go on a two-day "Sahara" arose we decided to go for it.

Arrived at Douz, the gateway to the Sahara at just after 4pm. Dressed in traditional clothing out of necessity, the heat is tremendous, never felt anything like it. Words cannot describe the experience, especially when the sand started to whip around us. The Sahara sand is incredibly soft and fine, feels just like powder. The Desert was very disorientating.
