... Ein Arbeitskollege (vom Cha Chá), der in der Schweiz lebt, aber in Mar del Plata geboren und aufgewachsen ist, hat darauf bestanden, dass ich seine Heimatstadt besuche. Jedenfalls hat mir eines Tages seine Schwester, die in Mardel lebt, eine Email geschrieben und mich eingeladen, die Küstenstadt kennenzulernen. Dies hat mich sehr gefreut und überrascht und ich nutze diese Chance :-)

We dropped our stuff off at the hostel and then went to have a wander around to sus out the place. As soon as we got down to the beach the first thing we noticed was the amount of beach huts there were. It was incredible. Hundreds and hundreds of them sprawled from one side of the beach to the other. Some even had their own pool, playground and football fields. Mar del Plata, mucha gente
So after Buenos Aires, I stayed in Mar del Plata with a couchsufer named Sergio. He is a psychology student and works with trouble youth in a really bad neighborhood. I had the opportunity to go with him one day.
The kids are into Morga. Which is a style of street drumming music based in the Buenos Aires area. They showed me some of their rhythms and their instructor played guitar as well, and knew BLUES!!!! So ...

Now firmly on South American time, we got our usual late start, knowing it was going to be a late night. We went to the same beach again and had a few good (windy) hours of swimming and beach tennis in a very hot sun before driving down to Miramar for lunch, about 50 kilometres to the South. We had thought about staying here as it seemed quieter, and it definitely is, however perhaps a little too quiet. Nice big beach though, and much more ...
