Laurent had handed out a sheet listing the five different wines, and most of us were taking notes while he spoke (so did I, and I listened to what he said, but I'll be damned if I can remember anything about the wines now). ... all the men had to stay on the bus. She led us down toward the river to see a reclining -- and quite naked -- statue of Leonardo da Vinci. We all giggled a lot and posed in front of him, and then got back on the bus and felt very smug about not telling the men what we were doing. Turns out, a lot of them seemed to think it had something to do with shopping, even though we didn't come back with any extra bags.

I took a day trip into Tours, which is the biggest city around here. It's a pretty amazing places, I still have a lot of exploring to do here yet, but I wanted to post some pictures of my first trip that I took into Tour alone.

That's what's out here. And farms. Although apparently they have a Duck and Melon Festival that Shara and Phil were lucky enough to be present for. I'm seriously jealous, I would've loved to go to the D&M Fest. Instead, what I got was the title. First, I should explain what I'm doing out here.

... around the pool in the sunshine for a week, until the weather changed and became more autumnal. Helene left us after a fez days, and we stayed on our own in coussay whilst papa, maman and granny went back to Thouars. It's nearly the end now, only one more stage until we come back home!

Undettered we paid our money and got there early. It's good to be pleasantly surprised sometimes. We had a fantastic day and only left at 10pm.
Basically it consists of a series of buildings housing different audio visual experiences ranging from Imax theatres, 3D experiences, 4D experiences and culminating in a fantastic evening show with amazing light and sound effects. We ...

Back in Chinon we went to dinner a little later this time at Sucre Sale and had French food. Galettes (hot Crepes filled with cheese, bacon and potatoes) and they were really yummy.  

Day Three and we were Chinon-bound due to lack of trains on a Sunday but it gave us a chance to renew our batteries and I left Leanne writing postcards sitting by the Vienne River while I climbed the steps (found out later there was a free elevator) up to Chateau de Chinon.  The Fortress was ...
