The bus will be here to take us to the airport in 6 hours and I just finished packing. The students are hopefully already asleep in bed! We had a great last day in Paris! Our day began with a trip up to visit Sacre Coeur basilica and the wonderful souvenir shops and artist quarter located behind. The rain held off until our shopping was done, thank goodness! ... town of Azay-le-Rideau so that we could get some lunch. I got a ham and Emmenthal sandwich on a baguette from a boulangerie. I've said it before: ham and cheese sandwiches are so much better in Europe than they are in America! I needed something sweet afterward, so I found a gelateria and got a scoop of gianduia and a scoop of cassis and sat in the sun eating. J'étais très heureuse!

... Joan of Arc and also the Knights Templar. We had a good dinner at the restaurant of the hotel last night, toured the fortress this a.m. And just got back from a lovely bike ride through nearby villages this afternoon. We plan to try another restaurant tonight and then travel by car tomorrow to see a couple of the major chateaux in the area. It is only 7:00 pm......too soon to have a plan for tomorrow night.
