Fortunately, Manaus had a lot of other things going for it, beyond just the U.S. -Portugal match (which, other than the final result, has been my favorite overall soccer experience ever--more on that later). We went on a two-day Amazon tour, which I covered in my previous post. Luckily, the flight attendant yells, "Manaus! Última chamada!" And I just scream like a two year old being denied ice cream with Santa, "MANAUS!!!" And she lets me go with her.

So I get to fly. :-).

    Day 35

A travel blog entry by tsundy on Apr 16, 2014

Today was the big amazon day and I woke up sleep deprived. The air con was cold. And Right on me. Couldn't be bothered moving. Ended up being a very cold shivering night. Woke up very tired. But just had to do it. Made breakfast - which would have been amazing if I didn't add too much salt and if I had butter. I grilled some bread, garlic, onion and capsicum. Lucivaldo arrived on time. We drove - me sleepy - to the port. The streets look very barren, ...
