A sociable day

Route de la paille
Today we decided to get up on time and go on a nice cycle ride through the local valleys and get some bread from Carrefour. That was what we meant to do, but instead it turned into a sightseeing tour to see the local straw sculptures (see pictures), a nostalgia tour to see an old gite we went to, and a let down seeing as Carrefour was closed over lunch. Cycle ride up the valley
... Bois and up to the main road at Henoville, gently climbing most of the way, then a long steeper climb at the end. We had not taken much water and there were no cafes or shops in the sleepy, typically French farm villages, so we could not go much further. We enjoyed the big sweeping downhill ride all the way back. (Probably about 8 miles there and back).
