... was 2013 and it looked like it went into the 2nd story of the buildings. The guide said it is all a part of living on the island of Passau. The city also continues on either side's of both rivers. We saw the Town Hall where the majority of their affairs are handled. It is from the 14th century and has been replastered after each flood. Very nice walking tour. ...

We actually never made it to Passau, Germany. The ship stopped in Aschach, Austria for us to get on the bus for our trip to Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. The ship then continued on to Passau where we were taken after our tour. The water levels in the Danube are so low that the Captain was concerned that we might get stuck in Passau, so he went through the lock and docked further upstream. Overnight he said that the ship would have 20 cms clearance from the bottom of ...

        Hello Friends,

We were supposed to be in Regensburg today, but with the change in cruise plans, we spent the day touring Passau. After a leisurely lunch, we headed out on a walking tour. This little city was up in the hills a little. Again, we saw a village similar to what we've been seeing. The church, and a few other buildings, however were much more magnificent. They were built more ...

        Day 5-The big swap day

... boat was that the rest of the crew was different. Otherwise, the two ships are identical. Very odd, Twilight Zone-ish experience. I expected Rod Serling to show up.

After some free time in Passau. The bus returned us to Regensburg and our new old stateroom on the Viking Var in time for cocktails and dinner. The Var remained docked in Regensburg overnight. Regensburg is the family home of retired Pope ...
