I caught the overnight train from Warsaw to Moscow, via Belarus. This time I had company in my compartment with 3 Polish guys: Adam, Thomas & Richard. They were going to Moscow for a work conference and Thomas spoke a little English. They opened their first bottle of Scotch Whisky when we left Warsaw and it lasted them all of 1 hour. I stuck to my Polish beer.

We arrived at the Belarus border and it took over 1 hour to ...

They've heard the screams and cries of Jewish children, and they've heard Jewish teenagers laughing and ...

... terrorist a lot and shouting drugs at me. I was so tired and fed up that I couldn't even react in a shocked or panicked way which I think upset them even more. They emptied my bag all over the table, pens and tampons flying everywhere, I didn't even have the energy to be embarrassed. They started getting more irate that they hadn't found anything illegal on me and I could sense they were getting bored with me. I hoped they would let me go but they moved on to ...

Today was the best day yet.

Tomek picked us up in Bialystok and we drove off to his gallery, Pracownia Filmu, Dzwieku I Fotografii, in Michałowo. It was just fantastic - the latest in interactive technology, displaying photos, films, music. We could have spent the entire day in his studio, the likes of which we have not seen at home. Once more Tomek amazed us.
