Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Zeppelin San Francisco

Loved the hotel, staff, club level - a true home away from home

          from

THe Prescott is a true secret in the heart of san Francisco. The staff provides outstanding service making you feel so welcome and pampered.

The Club Level is a wonderful feature and again the staff at breakfast and the cocktail hour could have not made me feel more like I was "at home". Although the rooms are quaint, they are an excellent value.

          Classy yet friendly

          from

a VERY nice boutique hotel. my wife and i spent 4 nites there over the christmas holidays. we highly recommend the club floor-it's worth the bucks if only for the happy hour pizza. had a king room which is advisable-the rooms are "european" here. postrio, the hotel restaurant, was excellent-zagat was wrong. the staff was extremely good-my business is as a vendor to the hotel trade-this hotel is way more courteous and professional than most. not stuffy, nice people, small hotel-what's not to like?

          Prescott Hotel - A Gem

          from

We just recently stayed at the Prescott Hotel and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location couldn't be better and the staff is so friendly and accommodating...they make your stay such a pleasant experience. We were told by the front desk that the rooms were scheduled to be redone in a fresher mode with Frette sheets and new comforters. The Club Level is a MUST. It's worth every penny, especially if there are two of you travelling. We will stay at the Prescott every time we are in San Francisco!

          Very disappointing

          from

This hotel is all hype. Our room was small and faced an alley across which other windows faced ours and were so close that our curtains had to remain drawn. The furniture and decor were cheap, and the AC was noisy. Though advertised, the room price did not include breakfast.

Also, online booking indicated a free "upgrade" to the best available room, however, the clerk refused to honor our request even though she told us better rooms were available (for $30 more). One can do much better in SF.

          Great stay

          from

Great find in SF. Good location near Union Square, rooms quite small but very comfortable, service excellent. Recommend upgrading to club rooms for the breakfast/evening lounge; also avoid rooms at the front which can be a little noisy.

          Warmly recommended!

          Relaxing at the Prescott

          from

My wife and I spent 3 relaxing nights at the Prescott. Very classy in a low-key fashion. The Club level is worth the extra cost. Good location and helpful staff. I would return.

          Prescott Hotel is a Gem!

          from

We stayed at the Prescott Hotel a few weeks ago and I can't say enough

great things about the service and location. The bellman (Mike) gave us

his favorite restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and he

was right on the money with every recommendation. The hotel is very

small, and with that comes the feeling that everyone who is staying

there really counts. We stayed in a king suite and it was roomy, and

very nice although the fabrics and general decor seemed old fashioned

and a bit on the dark side. Otherwise, I can't think of anything else

that wasn't up to par. It was a great find, and I'll definitely stay

          there again and again.

          Great boutique hotel

          from

Friendly and helpful staff--The concierge floor is a must---drinks and hor d'oerves in the late afternoon and an extended continental breakfast in the AM.. The rooms are small, but well furnished.

Good location--2 blocks to Union Square. Next door to Postrio's--Wolfgang Puck's restaurant.

          Boutique

          from

For those who ranted neglected to remember that they are staying at a "boutique" hotel. They seemed to have complained all too much about the size of the rooms. They obviously had not travelled to Europe before thus not knowing the quintessential essence of staying in a small & lovely hotel. Perhaps big Americans do need big Las Vegas style rooms. For those who raved, it was all about the club level and the frills. A nice stay does not entirely depend on the size of the accomadations or the free food but the charm of the place. The personality of the Prescott is what shines. Everytime I travelled back to the Prescott, the staff remembers me by name because I took the time out to get to know them by name. Next time you travel, smile a little and I guarantee, the other person always will smile back.

... The climb takes anywhere from a several days to a few weeks. The climbers pitch a tent on the sheer cliff. Yet here’s me who hates standing on a chair. Half dome is another popular place for mountain climbers. (Half Dome is the Symbol after the name on the North Face Clothing). We drove right down into the valley floor, looking up at the mountains and Wow!!! Bridal Veil Falls was quit ...

Day 3 San Fran hop on hop off bus tour

A travel blog entry by marcellinousa on Dec 17, 2014

Day 2 saw us up and out early again. We headed off to cafe Hollywood for a nice big breakfast, hoping this would last us all day until dinner as we had a full day planned seeing the city on a hop on hop off bus. Starting at fisherman's wharf we boarded the double decker bus and were the only people aboard, so we had a private guided tour. The guide was really informative and friendly. No one else boarded the bus and we stayed on the whole way until we ...

... the Marriott so really central and not Marriott prices. The real bonus is meeting people and so met Anna from Columbia on the walking tour and we ate out together twice before she moved on. This meant we were able to sample the two restaurants recommended us on the walking tour. So all in all whilst communal living might not be everyone's cup of tea the benefits certainly outweigh the trials and the bonus for a single traveller is the amazing company and people one meets. ...

... odd jobs but big machinery jobs, it's not as if it's boiling hot and invariable to work in the heat here at day! We walked down to the bus stop following the crowd and there was a huge queue for megabus! We got on though, double decker. Sat upstairs at the back, the air con was blasting so much it was freezing on there!! We tried getting shut eye after we moved it was great but got some, kept waking up absolutely freezing, shivering! Ross asked to turn it down and ...
