Arrived at Linz today which is the third largest city in Austria. Population 200,000, and is home Austria's largest steel company. From here we travel in the historic Majestic Emperor train to Salsberg. The train is very ornate and gives you an idea of what it was like to travel in style so many years ago. We had a coach trip around the city and then a walking tour followed by 2 hours free time. We had ...

... the water came up to that level in June 2013. The guide told us that they do not live at ground level. Really only at the second floor level. As he said the Bavarians may be crazy but they are not stupid. It means that they have all been renovated and look lovely. Beautiful place. At 12.00 they have an organ recital which George went to. I went to the town for a walk around and bought some ...

... villages and admired locals going about their simple lives. Schlogen is to the people of Linz what Rotto is to Perth-ites. It is so picturesque.. So green, so tranquil. Our first night in our tent and a thunderstorm finds us :) we weren't sure if our tent was waterproof- thank goodness it is! We camped beside a little lake which sounded like it was home to Austria's entire duck population! Em ...
