After an uneventful drive, we arrived in Bressanone(Brixen) in the evening, just in time for some home cooked food prepared by friends, followed by a game of cards played with an interesting deck of cards. Hoping for better weather we went to bed with the aim of reaching Belgrade the following ...

After ticking ...

After lunch we walked back into Bolzano, visited the Domenican Church and Bolzano Cathedral - both of which were very impressive. A quick change and we were off up the cable car to Oberbozen which was a 12 minute scenic discovery to take advantage of the clearing skies and warm weather. However, once up about 4000 ...

... valley that will take me to the vast plains of Northern Italy once again. Trento itself still has a bit of a mountain feel, snuggled right up against some steep slopes. Not far from the station is an old tower I decide to check out, and inside I find a different sort of display. It's a video/photograph/written display of the bombing of Trento by the Allies in World War II. Much of the city was destroyed--but this tower was spared. ...
