Hello all, Today we drove from Franz Joseph to Wanaka. ALong the way, we stopped at Lake Matheson. It was a really still lake in the morning and got a great view/reflection of Mount Cook. It was also really cold. To warm up, I did the 1.5 hour walk around the lake. That was a good one, as we got much better views of Mt. Cook than just the lookout. …

Wanaka was just a brief stop off for us as we weren't skiing or anything there. Spent a night at the Wanaka Hotel (sounds posh but it wasn't much better than a hostel). Went out to Roz's bar and had 'I heart Roz' stamped on our wrists. And it stayed for about a week!
