    ... treck up to Allmendhubel and then back down to Gimmelwald instead.

  • It was nice and warm in the sun but as soon as you got into the shade it was freezing and there was still snow and ice.
  • I tried to find the path back down to Stechelberg but couldn't. I ended up finding a really cool waterfall on the way though were the hiking trail goes directly underneath.
  • I gave up and walked back to Gimmelwald...... and found the path. An hour and a half ...

    ... boyfriend. Gosh, it was entertaining to say the least. I laughed so much. My feet and backside hurt like all mother chicken. I was thankful when I could get up, go outside smile for a photo and limp back to the car while trying to wake my bum cheeks that have fallen asleep. And I wasn't the only one who was suffering!     ... from Jossy, corn, a veggie sausage that we found in the fridge, some rice and apple sauce. It was all quite good and almost like thanksgiving back home.

    We now have to plan our upcoming week. We have no friends in the next place we want to go so we have to book hostels or figure something else out.

    ... feeling I'm getting sick...) and then sat at the gate and read until it was time to board. It was a very short flight, less than a full hour, which makes me wonder what kind of height we achieved, as it's not worth it (or possible, I would imagine) to make it all the way up to cruising altitude in that short time... I slept for most of it, waking up only for breakfast (a dry croissant, not that appetising) and the chocolate (much better!).

    ... but Bern is a rather quirky city so it sort of fits! We walked through the streets of the old town, which are beautiful, and then walked around the outside of Münster Cathedral, where there was a market which the boys loved. We met a man who made mini saxophones out of bamboo, and let me have a try! Needless to say, I was not very good! But he showed me how the technique works and then played Pink Panther on the boys request! The views ...
