  • That night I did some more planning and decided to head out for a hike in Lauterbrunnen. I was going to go to Jungfraujoch which has the highest train station in Europe but the price was rediculous.
  • Wed 29/10
    • I caught the train to Lauterbrunnen via Bern and Interlaken. Lauterbrunnen was spectacular and is set in the middle of a valley surround by cliffs, mountains and over 70 waterfalls!

    ... in town for dinner then, as they had made reservations for us at a restaurant in the old village where they do good cheese fondue. We drove back to their apartment to drop the car off and walked the lovely 5-10min into town, through the old gate. The restaurant was lovely and we were very excited to try fondue!     ... over then eating far more than humanly designed to, you feel like if someone cracks another joke about Uncle Joey's balding egg head you'll bust right open like a Kinder Surprise chocolate. We said our Ciao's and headed home, where I then booked my flight to Barcelona, Spain! I will go down to visit my grandparents and spend three weeks with them.     ... some of the old town. We had plans to go back out at night to see the Christmas lights so we didn't stay long this time around. Our room at the hostel is a six bed dorm. Our bunk is separated from the other two bunks by a wall. It is like we have our own separate room with a window and a heater. A bonus is that the lockers can fit our whole bag in them. It is a super cute hostel and would be amazing if the price was lower. Ugh.

    ... station. We were given a lovely room since we were on our "honeymoon" - the largest hotel floor space we've had and views of the river from two sides of the room - and then a fresh vase of flowers delivered gratis!
