... and leather craft shops. We had lunch at a restaurant that had been a general store and they had beautiful vintage posters, like a museum. We saw a family there having lunch too, the man wearing a gaucho outfit, so we understood it was not only for tourists.

... meu cavall es rellisca i cau a terra amb mi a sobre. Per sort em vaig llençar sobre el fang de costat i l’esquena i els cabells em van quedar ben enfangats. Per sort, el cavall només em va aixafar una mica el peu esquerra, però a part d’això, estava be, coberta de fang però be.

Després de dutxar-me i canviar-me de roba, vam anar a sopar. Gairebé teníem fam perquè ja feia 2 hores que havíem menjat!

... disturbing. We then listened to Oscar play some gaucho guitar tunes. .After lunch and half a bottle of wine, Katya and I took a swim in an awesome pool overlooking the farm. The lady then talked us into another horse ride. Unlike the first one, this was interesting and took us through cattle and to the river. We did this at sunset, and the views were awesome. We drove into the town of San Antonio de Areco, a very sleepy small town - especially sleepy at siesta time during the holidays. We eventually found the historic square and had lunch and a walk around and then had to head back to the city to drop our rental car and back to the hotel.

... the demonstration seemed very strange and almost too intimate at times for my comfort, but being out of my comfort zone is why I'm here in Argentina!

After the estancia visit, we went into the town to go to the "Museo Las Lilas de Areco," which was devoted to one artist who painted gaucho advertisements specifically for this certain type of gaucho boot.. It was interesting, but we did not need that much time there.
