... bustle of Lucerne. It is a not much to do kind of town, so we blend right in, sharing a bench by the lake with an old woman eating some ice cream. We eat the rest of our bread and cheese and after watching a local girl go down a ladder and swim in the lake, my inner child beckons again. In just my shorts, I jump in. It is cold but in a pleasant way, not where you have an immediate urge to get the heck out. I get out and Carol says she did not get a good picture, ...

When we arrived home:
Wow is our house big. Boy do we have a lot of cloths. Man are our cars huge. It is great to go to the bathroom anytime you want. The cats are huge (and healthy, way better than before we left). Paper and pencils anytime you need them. Out beds are so comfy. Jack-man, I have a lot of toys.
Lucerne/Luzern is an absolute gem of a town, nestled by a lake in a valley below a sobering line of tall mountains. Actually, until the sky cleared this afternoon, we had no idea that the mountains were even there, and it was somewhat of a surprise to see such a craggy landscape appear out of the blue (literally)!
