On the bus by 8:30 with suitcases packed we headed for Ballenberg to visit the Swiss Open-Air Museum. This is an outdoor setting of over a hundred historical buildings from the 1300s and on. These buildings of homes, barns, and storage were all torn down and brought to this terrain where they were put back together just as they existed in their original state. The architectural details represent the four areas of this country showing ...

Well, we had breakfast in Austria, lunch in Lichtenstein and dinner in Switzerland. Three countries, one day. Pretty good effort, I'd ...

... were in line with similar places I’ve found elsewhere in Switzerland. They had a “piano man” performing tonight so I had some music with my hot meal.

I decided to order the Club Sandwich which came only with Fries, along with wine. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the portion size was quite reasonable, although it was still a filling meal. However, I was not pleasantly surprised to see the bill. I made the mistake of ordering ...

... bustle of Lucerne. It is a not much to do kind of town, so we blend right in, sharing a bench by the lake with an old woman eating some ice cream. We eat the rest of our bread and cheese and after watching a local girl go down a ladder and swim in the lake, my inner child beckons again. In just my shorts, I jump in. It is cold but in a pleasant way, not where you have an immediate urge to get the heck out. I get out and Carol says she did not get a good picture, ...
