She died quietly in 1509, aged 46, of pneumonia.

Caterina was born a Sforza, her first husband was a Riario, the father of four of her six children. The local street leading up to the fortress in Forli is in his family name.

An imposing citadel in its day. The height in the photographs is deceptive. These walls are about 30 feet tall. Those protecting the keep, even taller. And the grass below is a moat forty feet ...

We woke up to a beautiful vista from our balcony that overlooked the valley towards to sea. San Marino has a population of 30 000 and is tax free. Di and I were standing away from the car hire desk while Lee and Erwin ...

Our original intention was to follow the coast road around the lagoons but we quickly opted
for the motorway route which would get us to San Marino much quicker and give us far more time to enjoy it. The ride was hair raising though and I arrived one hundred and fifty miles later quite out of sorts. The high speed tail gating had tested my nerves. Our fist visit was to the coastal resort of Rimini. With nine miles ...

Went to the beach next to the camping place which is just across the road. It is a bit ****. The water is cold and you have to pay for umbrellas on the beach. We walked for a few kms and played until it started raining. We continued playing in the rain on the swings. I made pasta bolognaise with my ...
