... almost finished :-)

First stop was the Cathedral - St. Stephen's (http://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hvarska_k atedrala)
There was a lot of activity inside - after we admired the beautiful NEW doors sculpted by CONTEMPORARY artist Kuzma Kovacic (http://www.vecernji.hr/biografije/kuzm a-kovacic-348) - EVERYTHING was being cleaned (mostly by the good women of the parish - supervised by a very energetic nun) in preparation for Easter. We were horrified to ...

... there was slowed cooked beef in gravy with gnocchi and for me gnocchi and stuffed mushrooms. Then desert was semi-freddo which was fabulous. As a surprise we were then entertained by a local men's acapello singing group. Apparently it is something that the men in Croatia do - get together and sing. They were great and sang for about an hour. Then it was off to bed but I am now lying in bed listening to Abba from the boat that is tied up to us. I expect lots of complaints ...

Hvar

We motored on and eventually found the safety of a small secluded bay on the south side of Brac called Lucice. It was moderately crowded and Mladen found us an amazing spot very near the two restaurants. Our neighbor yelled out to ...

... boat, the beautiful wildflowers growing from rocks at every town we went to, the Croatian hospitality... A fabulous week. If you get a chance to do a sail in Croatia, (you don't have to do such a boozy one if you're not into that - there's heaps of types!), do it. So long as you like boats. And you don't mind a bit of seasickness. :-) It's totally worth it.

See you soon - only a few weeks left! Boo hoo. Will be great to see you all again though!
