Beach day!! Today can be summed up quite simply as a day of sun, relaxation and swimming with a smattering of water sports. However, since this trip began, when have you known me to skimp on the details? Our own research before the trip and input from all of the locals with whom we've chatted since we've been in France all pointed to Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat as the best beach destination. As we knew that ...

... little wary after our last small boat trip, however we decide this would be good. The view is very nice and the area is popular for absailers, repellents and hikers and looking at the height of the cliffs we understand why.
We enjoy 3 Callanques and during the trip. From the boat we can see these huge cliff faces and Catherine says she will take us up to one of these points after lunch.

... and Amsterdam as rough places to drive but that in no way compares to Nice! Many of you know I do get slightly...slightly anxious when driving in bad weather...well I am adding driving in Vieux NICE cobblestone lanes to that list....Holly cow!!! The laws are uber small, the directions are misleading, pedestrians everywhere, cyclists everywhere! Ed made a turn into a single lane maze full of beautiful shops, and while driving ...

... floating in a beautiful, serene place lost to time.

Our dinner at VistaMar in the Hermitage Hotel (One of Monte Carlo/Monaco's top 10 restaurants) was complete with foie gras, sea bass, lamb, chocolate fondant and Grand Marnier Souffle... a perfect ending to an amazing meal. We finished the night in a small club cut into the side of a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean.
