July 31st We woke to no wind at all had a lovely breakfast in the cockpit and when all was cleared away we set sail for Guilvinec, motor on and sails up it was not long before we turned the motor off and settled into a lovely sail all the way. ... arrived too early at the Raz. As the conditions were so good we decided to go through with the tide against us so we had to put the motor on to assist us getting through and not going backwards. As we sailed past the Raz it was a lovely feeling to think we didn't have to do this sail again as it can be very tidal. ... went out of site at about 4.30pm so we settled down for a long night ahead. Thankfully we sailed through the shipping lanes through the light which is always a good thing. We were able to turn the engine off by 11am only in the early hours did we have to turn the engine on again.
