... amazingly coiffured sheep. Their fleeces can only be used for judge’s wigs!

We had lunch in a town called Pukё (say Puk eh - 'e' as in egg – thank goodness). The café at the fuel station served up a great fresh Greek salad for 2 at 600 leke = €4. We are enjoying the food in Albania. Pukё’s an attractive little town with lots of pavement cafes. Evidently they close the main street to traffic ...

We woke up around 8 and by that time the small bar was already open. We ordered some coffee, which the owner soon delivered to our table on a worn tray... it was very surrealistic. After breakfast we got ready and we were soon on the road again. We bought blueberries from two little girls near a village and then stopped at a nice new restaurant for a drink. Day 4 and I'm in Albania, having managed 100+ miles on day 1 to hit Macedonia from Thessaloniki in Greece. I encountered my first climb and thought it was a beast. Little did I know what was to come.
