    ... mountains I just feel happy. (Justin and Jen, remember how we all felt in NZ everytime we started to drive away from those snowcapped mountains?)     ... up getting a power outage all along the street. A little bit of rain and everything shuts down! It didn't take long however before the power started up again and we had a barbeque with the hostel ($r27) and our daily free Caipirinha! We went straight to the beach first thing the following morning. The hostel allows you to rent towels for your time there ($5r with a $20r deposit) along with umbrellas, seats and boogie boards which are free. The beach was amazing ...

    With Rio off the bucket list, what better place to relax than a beach front hostel in the majestic Barra da Lagoa, Florianapolis.
