          Last Day of The Feast

A travel blog entry by shawnagood on Oct 07, 2012

Today I started my day out early by going down to the restaurant at 7 AM. I wanted to write my blog and get a cup of coffee. It was very nice and peaceful. A time to reflect on what I have learned, what will change, and to reflect on the many friendships that we have made. For breakfast we had bread, a pancake, scrambled eggs, orange juice, and coffee. The food has been really good, a little different than what we are used to at home, but very balanced meals. After breakfast, ...

... wall, which probably seemed like a huge wall to it. But it just kept dragging the spider up and over the wall and back down the other side and went about 12 ft. Into the woods with it. We took pictures at a safe distance and used the zoom button on our cameras. Later in the day we looked up the bug and found out it was a tarantula killing wasp. We were so amazed that a little bug could drag a huge spider that far and did it so ...

Today we started out our day with coffee, hot chocolate for Kevin. Scrambled eggs with corn, papaya, cantaloupe, arrepas, and bread. It was all very good! Services started at 10:30. The Sermonette reminded us that even though we all can't speak the same language we are connected through God's Spirit and that we love one another. It was very touching to us. We tried to hold back the tears, but couldn't do it. The children sang today and that was also a wonderful treat! After services, ...

... the books of the Bible. We played books of the Bible bingo and they had a page that they could color. After the Bible study, we went back to the room and rested for a few minutes. At lunch we had a vegetable soup with plantains in it, steak, rice, a baked potato, salad, and a half of a peach for dessert, and a fruit drink made with a fruit called lulo. After lunch we came back to relax for a few minutes and then it was time to get ready for ...

          ... were tasty.

Tonight, we had the “fogota” or campfire. The hotel staff built a fire in half of a 50 gallon barrel in front of the large salon. We set up chairs in a circle all around the fire. Well, at 8 PM, when it started, there were 3 people there. At about 8:20, people started to come. It was sprinkling slightly, so a few of us sat around the fire with umbrellas. There was no plan of action, so Olga ...
