... city and it is so different within the walls. Cobblestone streets everywhere (which most European cities have but the way these were laid out were just stunning) the castle in the city square, lines of restaurants and cafes and yet we all ended up at maccas for lunch. This was more so for the ease, cost effectiveness and to get us out of the damn hurricane outside instead of walking the streets trying to find a restaurant. We then hopped back on the bus ...

First it was apparently a feast day that isn't really celebrated in the United States much. "The Purification of Mary"/Candlemass. They staple the silk to the workbench, which is long enough for, um, 6-8 scarves to be ...

... and then a zoo. There was no entrance fee or anything, so I went from looking at cacti, to seeing some giraffes wandering around. It was pretty cool.

I left there, crossed the river and went walking up into a more residential area of the city. I didn’t really know where I was going, but since I have my offline maps on my phone, I feel like I can never really get lost. It means I can be a bit more ...

... specifically known as the La Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière. It was a 45 minute journey to the summit, but we got to see the majority of less famous sights and monuments of Lyon along the way. It was a very scenic journey in general, consisting of typical French alleyways, buildings, cobble stone roads, street cafés and a beautiful garden that you must travel through to get to the cathedral. We took ...
