Another long bus ride, but the lovely green scenery made the time pass quickly. The bus company i used this time is punctual, and arrives on time.
The first day out starts out as a lovely day, so plenty of walking to be done. Bordeaux is so different to Lyon. The buildings seem to be a lot older. I am impressed at what i see, and the more i explore the more impressed i am. It is a very low rise city due to the weakness of the subsoil. The ...

... anywhere but France. Plus we went into a Basque chocolate shop, a specialty food shop, the Maison du Vin which was a sort of formal wine bar where you could have a glass of a selection of fabulous wines. Also we found the Musée des Beaux Arts and spent some time there. And we walked half way across the bridge - Bordeaux is near the mouth of the Garonne. It is huge here, and will be joined by the Dordogne river, before they both combined flow into the ...

Fran tells me the Bordeaux shopping was wonderful.

Well, how does Bordeaux compare with Paris?
Will let you know very soon.

          Au revoir

... had been cooked by some Fijians. So we headed on down and joined them all. It was great to meet some new people here, and join them and their families in celebrating Christmas away from home. There was plenty on the menu, from Chicken, Pork, Beef, Salad and Vegetables! The owner of the Dog and Duck has just purchased an 8 week old British Bulldog. Was fair to say we got our doggy fix this night! Overall, a very cruisy ...

... it! It was so large and busy, that we couldn't be bothered with it and only came out with a box of beer and a bottle of wine. We then decided to go to IKEA, where we thought we could find our toaster, jug and towels. Towels = success! Toaster and Jug = fail! We spent about an hour walking around IKEA trying to find a toaster! Not one in sight! So final destination, another mall ...
