    Today is Dan's Birthday...Happy Birthday Dan! What a great place to celebrate! We left Santiago this morning. We now will be traveling east to Leon, another stop on the Way of St James pilgrimage route and known for its religious festivals and Easter Week processions.     ... in Villar De Mazarife at 8 am and arrived in Astorga at 5 pm. There were a couple of breaks, but most of the time was spent walking. The first ten km was relatively flat surrounded by corn fields. Then the path turned rocky and once again I was walking in rolling hills.

I remembered this story to tell Bernadette when we stopped for morning tea and she needed a little pain relief - out came the pharmaceutical war chest in a snaplock bag and the eyes of the Spanish guy on the neighboring table nearly popped out of his head at the wondrous variety medications.     ... Vigo centralised and known for it's massive cathedral. We strolled around and through a lot of small skinny streets and nooks. There are also a lot of huge squares that just all of a sudden open up and are all pretty gorgeous. The temperature started to rise fairly quick and we were soon thirsty so found a small courtyard where we sat in the sun and ordered two rosés which of course also meant we got our first FREE tapas.
