      ... leaves every 15min.

6:30am was the beginning of what we expected to be a long and arduous journey to Hikkaduwa. Arriving by tuktuk at the bus stop and were ushered in the direction of the highway bus that was filled with well dressed Sri Lankans on their way to work. After what I think was us bargaining for a price to take our backpacks on the bus we found ourselves sitting in a very comfortable airconditioned seat. Could it really be ...

The hotel was alright, it had a bit of a weird feeling about it that I couldn't quite put my finger on and it was right next to the main road which meant it was very VERY noisy (at one point we likened it to living in Camp Bastian). Arrived safe & sound however a little tired and emotional at 1 am after a big day! A day which started with our usual peace park walk followed by some time with Gracie and Ezzie before the long haul to Colombo via Singapore. Rain rain rain on arrival so hot and steamy and a city still full of life at that time of night, albeit a city full of men! Every large building had the lights on and a couple of blokes at ...

When Paul suggested going to Kandy by tuk tuk I thought he was joking. However, yesterday proved it could be done. Left hotel at 7.30 am and travelled some 250 km experiencing the hairy manner in which the locals drive. Roshan our guide took us to see the elephants, spice garden and the Buddhist temple where the famous tooth is kept...we'll I say famous as I had never heard of it. We finally got back around 7 too shattered to go out to eat but glad we had taken the tuk tuk ...
