... is that the bus from Ciudad Bolivar dumped me at a private terminal used only by that bus company in the middle of an industrial estate. I did a quick walk around to look for an appropriate hotel but there was no accommodation of any kind.

Plan B was to ask a taxi driver to take me to a cheap hotel near to whatever terminal buses to Tucacas leave from (having to spend a night in Valencia would probably make it unfeasible to go to ...

... and subsequently didn`t hear my alarm and then got up 45 mins late. Got to the bus station having just missed a bus by 10 mins and then found that the enxt available bus (with a seat free) was 8:30pm (****!)

Anyway got to Valencia and found there was a 10am bus onward to Ciudad Bolivar. The bus actually went at 1pm Mmmmmmm. Not my day (or few ...

... turns out that we got on a bus not to Maracay, but we had to change at another town on the way to get another bus. We arrive at this place and it's the same disaster, hacking to find the right platform and then a direct bus to Maracay. We were shunted from one bus to another and eventually (after a long and stressful negotiation in sign language) we got on a bus that would take us to Maracay. Phew... And this is where it all ...
