Today we planned to just spend the day in Luzern. It is such a cozy little town with so many cobblestone streets just waiting to be explored. There are a lot of shop that we wanted to visit. Most importantly, Ez wanted a Swiss Army knife for his birthday, so our mission to find one for him was on. We started by visiting the famous Luzern souvenir shop, Casagrande. This is where Ez found his pocketknife and he was so proud. The blade was not as sharp as he wanted, but it was ...

I was able to walk besides the lake and that was beautiful scene. Of course, I looked out of place compared to the people swimming in the lake. The hostel is less than 100 to the lake and there is a pretty park between the lake and the hostel. Not a bad view! The town is picturesque and just beautiful. I cannot ...

The weather was not promising as the day began. A light, cool rain was falling when we left Interlaken and continued off and on all the way to Lucerne. The scenery was outstanding but the low clouds and rain ...

... peaceful than in the very busy second class cabin below.

The lake cruise was spectacular, there is really no other words for it. As we cruised we could see Mt Rigi in the distance and it looked beautiful under a slightly cloudy blue sky.

After leaving the boat at the little town of Vitznau, we immediately boarded the red cog wheel train for the ride up to Mt Rigi. The train was also included ...

... Lucerne in the early evening, and were dropped around the lion monument. It seems really small in pictures, but is actually very large and striking! It was beautiful and commemorates Swiss guards who were in the French Revolution.

I can't recall the order of events, but soon after we were wheeling our suitcases over the chapel bridge, and to our Jailhouse "hotel." Lucerne is breathtaking!!! So fresh, clean and beautiful. If it weren't so expensive I would consider it as ...
