    ... Photos are frequently displayed in tourist places like this showing the before and after WW2 bombings. The destruction is indescribably phenomenonal. And more impressive is the rebuild program that has occurred since. Cathedrals like this are almost new having been rebuilt only 50 or so years ago. Everywhere you go in Germany, the effects and destruction of WW2 are in your face. Much more than I expected.

    ... the mornings. We took public transport to our camping accommodation which was 'stoke travel' (the ultimate party place). We joined the lengthy queue to check into our two person tent accommodation and were given a breakfast consisting of pig slop. Can you believe we paid €50 per person per night to sleep in a tent?     ... and then decided that it was lunchtime. Since we were tourists in Munich, where else to go but the Hofbrauhaus? After some more beer and more wurst, we were ready to tackle the afternoon's activity.

    We started off by taking the U-bahn to Konigsplatz, where there were three buildings in the style of Greek temples, surrounding an open square. They were designed to complement each other; one is Ionic, one Doric, and one Corinthian. ...
