Heidiland Yesterday, we had a later start to the day as did the 3rd tour, to the Heidiland region which commenced at 11am and returned at 7pm. Our guide Marcello is a lovely older, slightly rounded Swiss gent and asked each one of us what our nationality was as we boarded. While Marcello is a tour guide now in his semi retirement, he did the mandatory military service as a young man and then completed his chef apprenticeship which was his main career for 45 years. We ...

... for dinner. The young man at the front desk of our hotel told us about a great little wood fired restaurant for pizza. We drove through the main part of the city, and I have never seen such exclusive stores. Some of them I've never heard of before. The shopping is fantastic if you are a shopper.

This place is known for it's rich and famous. Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses along with many, many movie stars come here for the skiing and the ...

... first mile was uphill all the way and we finally got to a saddle between two mountains, which is essentially a meadow. We looked for deer or Ibex but didn't see any. We saw a lot of scat so we knew they were around but didn't see any. We took a wrong turn and finally asked some people hiking if we were on our way to Parking lot 1. They said no, it was back the other way. So we sat at a sweet little bridge over ...

Hello. Well, here I am on board The Glacier Express. Don't worry. I will be looking out the windows. It is only 9.35 am. ( I'm early. Yep.) The train doesn't leave until 10.02am. We are still at the station. And yes, being me, I checked the station board, the train flashing board and I asked a porter! I'm on the right train. There was no one on this carriage when I got on. It is filling fast. I think it is the only First Class carriage on this one. We ...

... It was straight up hill and a beautiful hike. The castle is still occupied by the Prince so we weren't able to see the inside. The Prince is still the man who rules this tiny little country. There are 130 rooms in the castle, and one can just imagine how fabulous it is. We walked through the old section of Vaduz, Mitteldorf. It's a lovely little piece of quietness. We were surrounded by beautiful flowers ...
