Pleasant room in a dodgy area

The hotel has recently had some rooms refurbished and we were upgraded into one of these rooms free of charge. The room itself is nicely decorated with an eco-friendly theme in mind. It uses refurbished piping as decor as well as recycled wood for the furniture. It has a big flat screen tv, a fridge, microwave and safe in the room and the bathroom has nice fixtures and fittings. The hotel offers a standard quality free breakfast and has a very small basic gym and pool. The location is close to downtown LA but is clearly in an underdeveloped area- the local firefighters even warned us about walking around at night (which we never did).

The first thing you need to know about today was that it was a lazy day.

We arrived at the Hotel at around midnight after getting a metro from Union Station to downtown LA. This was surprisingly easy and the metro system itself is very similar to the tube in London but I'd imagine it is a lot simpler for tourists here. It's a one-off flat …

Today was to be an exciting day. Today was the day we visit Six Flags Magic Mountain! This is something I have been looking forward to for a long time, and finally the day was here! We started by getting some breakfast from the hotel again before heading towards the metro station to begin our journey. To get to Magic Mountain …

... t quite work out as well as I thought. We sat in row 69 which was the first row with only 2 seats at the window. It was great as we could throw all our luggage to the side of my seat and get to it fairly easily and didn't have to bother people getting up our of our seats.

The flight was very uneventful, with the BOSE headphones going on to shut out the plane noise and the inflight movies to keep us entertained. ...

12 hours after leaving St Louis, and some "have a great trip texts later," we've arrived! To LA that is. We still have a 14 hour flight to Hong Kong and a 4 hour flight to Kuala Lumpur left, but we've managed to physically exhaust ourselves! Also, with the long flight time coming up, I'm decidedly committing to blogging during this trip. So I present my very first entry, a very detailed entry about our awesome Uber drivers/our very "economical" day in LA. So for our 10 ...

... a little bit longer than anticipated others hired bikes and cruised down the path that winds alongside the white sand of the beach. Either way it was a really cool to get to see the sights that we are all familiar with from TV and movies.

We all met after lunch and boarded the bus. The moment that the boys stepped onto the bus they got into their individual zones. The bus trip to Mira Costa State High School took us about 25 mins. This ...
