... That's when the reality hit! We had been trying so hard when booking this holiday to avoid the school holidays, we'd forgotten about the public holidays. Not that it mattered now. I spoke briefly to the AA crew who were half friendly, although at arrival, the FA at the front didn't even look up from her magazine when the passengers were disembarking.

Ted had wisely booked a day room at the Four Seasons hotel, so we wasted no time in collecting our bags and catching the ...

We've got to get organized for South America - confirm flights, confirm language school, organise bike transport, fix bike problems, buy guide books - but we also want to stop and reflect on what we've done here, and that's not happening when spending all day in the car driving 200 miles. The apartment is quite nice though. Furnished, heaps of storage, a washing machine and dryer, a dishwasher, a main bed and also a foldout couch. We quickly managed to fill the space with all our stuff (so in terms of rooms, it has a living space, a bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom - that's all), but were too pooped to care by this point. Now it's just time to bop away to the lovely loud music being played at the bar next door. Peace out from Los Angeles xo.

... as it wasn't a majorly busy city (surprising as it's the capital of Cali), and then stayed with some family friends nearby San Luis Obispo, which was great... Just what I needed. One evening, I got driven onto the beach, had a fire with s'mores and watched the sunset... I even saw a whale! It really was one of the most beautiful nights of my life thus far. I was headed back to San Fran. There I met up with three girls I'd met previously during my travels, as we ...

... took forever, we had our rucksacks on, I had my fleece on, it was around 22 degrees at 7-8am it's such a different heat compared to San Francisco! After about a 30 minute walk we finally arrived! Couldn't check inn till 1pm so we couldn't have a shower or really shower until then, so we dug deep for our training clothes and went over to Denny's to it down have some breakfast and change. The hotel was like an old fashion motel with the car lot outside the hotel rooms it looked pretty ...
