Great day again today. Took the cog train up to the Jesus statue. Great views of Rio. Then went to copacabanna for lunch to watch the Greece / Columbia game. Great atmosphere. Lots of chants from the Colombians. After a rest went downtown rio to watch another game. Today's pictures may be on yesterday.
Today went to go see Jesus but it was cloudy so we walked a good ways to Sugarloaf mountain. Great views of the city. Then walked another good ways to lunch. Food has been ok. nothing spectacular yet. Going out tonight so hopefully it will be good. And it was good! Ate at Porcao! Tim's work friends treated us to dinner and then gave us gifts. Awesome people and great dinner.
Arrived At Rio around 10 AM yesterday. While at the airport we got our tickets for our games. Then checked into the hotel and thenm went down to copacabanna to fan fest to watch the Brazil game.

We went to watch the round 16 game between Colombia and Uruguay in the mecca of football stadiums - the Maracana- truly an amazing experience for a football frantic . Colombia won 2-0 and their fans were ecstatic and celebrated all night - without Suarez, Uruguay were unable to compete and one of the goals of the tournament to date was scored ...
Downtown Rio Today! The library! I was giddy with anticipation - could barely contain the energy bubbling out like a shaken soda. We took our first Subway trip in Rio, made it down town, we're walking towards the Brazilian National Library (Biblioteca Nacional).
