      So today was supposed to be the star of the real biking fun, left the Czech Republic and headed into the mountains in Slovakia, the rain has reduced a little but now I'm on the twisties it is still a real pain...I've given up on my plan to ride East through Slovakia, I'm now heading South into Hungary and away from the rain ...

      ... to Slovakia, where snow covered the ground everywhere. Temperature started to reach negative around these areas as we see the ground fully capped with snow in all directions. The stop-by at Banská Bystrica is mainly for lunch and we only visited a small town square filled with Christmas markets. In the center of the town square there is a small soviet WWII Memorial, engraved with the names of the Soviets that lost their lives liberating Slovakia from Nazi Germany.

      ... on my netbook. He took me as far as he could, and dropped me off at a petrol station in Zvolen (or maybe it was Banská Bystrica? I can't remember).

      So I was about half way from Budapest to Slovakia. At this next change over, I waited maybe 30-40 minutes for my next ride. A big old truck pulled over to in to the entrance for the petrol station. I hopped on up, slung my bag on to the back seat and shook hands with the kind-hearted Polish truckie. I couldn't actually ...
