We are all feeling a bit tired today so plan to have a fairly easy day. First up some shopping at BTC shopping area just on the outskirts of Ljubljana. 450 shops over several city blocks. We didn't look at them all but spent a couple of hours wandering round and making several purchases. Then a 50 kilometre drive to Lake Bled, through some pretty countryside, heading towards the alps. I think that in my entire time at Lake Bohinj I saw about twenty other people walking around the lake. When I first saw Lake Bled, I was surrounded by at least fifty people. ... of a mountain. I almost preferred this castle over the cave as it was less crowded and structured and we got to wander around the castle at our own pace. It was incredible to wander through the castle, exploring all the distinct and varied rooms. We would come out of one room that was decorated with rich wood floor boards and grand furniture and walk into a hallway that opened to the rock face of the cave covered in green algae. ... I had dinner with her and her friend, and we went to a free concert. It is currently the summer festival of Ljubjana, so there were concerts going on all of the time. While it was good, I think that it would have been much more enjoyable if I spoke the language because the songs all told stories. Afterwards we went to a performance arts piece, which also would have made sense if I could have understood the language! Anyways, it was still good to see ...
