    ... for an hour or so before boarding bus to cross into Slovinia and in particular to Ljubljana. Checked into Hotel about 1.00 pm and had a guided tour of the old city from 2.15 to 4.15pm. This is a pretty city , smaller and better maintained than Zagreb. See attached pictures for a brief glimpse of both Zagreb and Ljubljana. Weather cleared about 5.00 pm and blue sky is showing from under some clouds as I write . Staying at another nice hotel part of the Austrian Trend ...

    ... I noticed that most of the "Bike Lanes" in Ljubljana are on the sidewalks relegated to various lanes that are painted in red. However, I noticed that not all the bikers followed said lanes and the lanes were not on every sidewalk so you really had to pay attention to what you were doing or risk being smacked by a bike.

    ... are in Slovenian and there isn't much in the language to guess if it's saying "closed", "open" and so on. There are no immigrants. They're mainly Slovenes or others from former Yugoslavia. There is no second language and opportunities for university graduates seem scarce. I rather enjoy it that I'm surrounded by people of the country. It gives it a more authentic feeling.
