This town about an hour and a quarter from Florence was nice. Usual cathedral etc to see. Weather not so good the day we went.

Siena and San Gimignano tour day

A travel blog entry by bkmuir on Sep 12, 2014

Up for brekky at 7.30am to get to tour meeting point by 8.15. Bus was full and left for Siena around 9.00. What do people think it is ok to be late! About an hour and a half to Siena seeing a nicer mountainous country part of Florence. This is what I have been waiting for. Unfortunately it was pouring rain when we got there and didn't let up the …

We met our tour bus just before 8.30am at Santa Maria Novella train station. Our tour guide was a lovely Hungarian girl called Olivia. She spoke excellent English, as she studied languages at university. Our first stop of the day was the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Siena. During the drive, Olivia told us a little about Siena, but we were …

We were heading to Spoleto for our next 2 nights. On our way we were stopping at San Gimignano and Siena. I hadn't been to either of these places before and I was looking forward to seeing the …

An epic love story - Verona.

A travel blog entry by miss_melissa on Aug 10, 2014

... what a dirty ****** sewer of a city. The canals and waterways, however ancient, have the feel of some cheap ill-conceived tourist attraction. The gondolas look like they're all piloted by local prison inmates on a day release program, and the water busses, which seem to be the primary mode of transport, are slow, uncomfortable, hot and look like they were probably used to transport Italian troops during the First World War. While I'm talking ...
