This town about an hour and a quarter from Florence was nice. Usual cathedral etc to see. Weather not so good the day we went.

    Day 2:
Sienna, Greve in Chianti, San Gimignano
After breakfast we ventured further around Tuscany.
We travelled into the Chiant Hills where beautiful forests, vineyards and pretty medieval hamlets abound. Here we visited the beautiful town of Greve in Chianti, famous for its triangular shaped piazza and the sailor Verrazzano. We spent …

At first arrival to Roma my first goal was to visit the Tuscan region, but as I kept researching I realized that it probably wasn't going to happen unless we did a tour, and truthfully those that know us know that we are not the tour kinda people. She spoke excellent English, as she studied languages at university. Our first stop of the day was the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Siena. During the drive, Olivia told us a little about Siena, but we were …

About an hour and a half to Siena seeing a nicer mountainous country part of Florence. This is what I have been waiting for. Unfortunately it was pouring rain when we got there and didn't let up the …

... 30 minutes to Nice. The hotel was v good (and understanding of us changing booking a few times) but their wifi was flaky. I jiggled the router aeriel and that helped a little but the router nearest A&D's room was dead, not even a power supply. I resorted to relocating a power supply from another floor but the router was dead.

The good news from that was that we spent more time at ...
