... medieval part of town. The streets were quite dark, narrow alleyways. The buildings were different from the newer part of town. We went to a restaurant and had tapas. Tapas is all different kinds of foods that the table shares. We had bread, cheese, potatoes and croquettes. To get back to our hotel we walked past the cathedral and had a delicious ice ...

Today it was back onto the tourist bus with a bit more of a plan. My first hop off spot was the Placa D'Espanya. The square used to be the site for public hangings but was remodelled in 1929 for the international exhibition. This huge roundabout had an enormous monument in the middle of it. ... the air was humid. We were able to find our way to the hostel, but there was no sign indicating that the address corresponded to a "hotel," "hostel" or anything else! I rang the doorbell and our host told us that the earliest we could drop off our bags was 10am. It was then 7:50am. Welcome to Barcelona. We wondered through the dark, desolate streets for a few minutes, until we found a nice park with benches in which to sit at until we could drop our bags. Although it would have ...
