... yep here is another town to get lost in. The streets appear to be in square blocks but the city is huge. Most of the streets on the map were not labeled, except for the main ones. This does not inspire confidence. I decided I'd explore the area around the hotel in search of a better map and something to eat. But I didn't want to wander to far until I had my hands on a pbetter map. As it turned out I didn't find that map but I did find a nice restaurant by the bay who do ...

... work starting from his earliest paintings as a child prodigy. Admittedly I was not very knowledgeably about Picasso's early work (or any work beyond what is general knowledge to be honest). As a boy he started out painting exceptionally realistic portraits. It was interesting to walk the halls and watch his development as he exploring so many genres of visual art throughout his young life. You can read more about the museum at ...

Today we set out on foot to soak in Gaudi. During the walking tour of the Exiample neighborhood, we saw many buildings by Gaudi and his Modernisma contemporaries. There were some really interesting architectural designs from the turn of the century. We hit Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia church early afternoon with the sun shining through the colorful stained glass windows and it was really beautiful inside. Hard ...

Today was a day of simple pleasures. Paul ordered breakfast without speaking any English. We wandered through the gothic quarter before the crowds, saw geese in the cathedral and Picasso "graffiti" on buildings. We discovered a local market, sat at a bar to have coffee, and were flanked by a bunch of strangers, one of whom turned out to be from Wodonga, another had an aunt and ...

... is even bigger I am very pleased with both the location and the size of the room.
Off to guest relations for sea sickness tablets and enquiring re our airport transfers. We had been told by a few people we should go to Monserrat but we did not fit this during our visit in Barcelona prior to the cruise. I was sure I had seen a tour that covered Monserrat and airport transfer and I was correct only enough spaces left for the 3 of us so I book ...
