Stranded in St Moritz
... struggling along the road in the snow. They were certainly not in their natural environment where they were.
As it was still snowing by the bucket I decided to sit in the hotels computer room and work on my photos etc.
The snow finally decided to give up around 2pm and so I decided to take a walk and go and explore the wonderful tourist town of St Moritz.

Sunshine and snow in the Alps

Soon myself and about 20 or so other skiers are in the car and on our way to Gurschen at 2212m altitude.
As I step out the car the cold southerly wind hits me and instantly I’m tempted to head for the café and get another hot chocolate down my throat. However, with these wonderful views below nothing is going to stop me looking over the cliff edge and clicking away at my camera.

What a journey
Left castelrotto bus to Bolzano, showery only so good for travel. Bolzano by train to merano then train to mals. This was a 2carriage train massive windows even bigger than normal regional trains. Beautiful country looking at forts, castles, snow, alps. Then postal bus from mals to zermez Switzerland. It is known for travelling through 3countries over high mountains then into valley. Chur and the train trip to Morges

We get to the hotel at 12:01 get our bags and board the train at 12:15 - now that is to the minute timing!
