... back down. It was only when we headed down that we found out that the track/rails were laid in 1887 and carriages were made in 1937 when the track was turned into electric. ... and uncles for dinner, where we had a beautiful fondue dinner, with a big pot of melted Swiss cheese & bread to dip in it yummy! We had an early start this morning to catch a ferry from Lido to get to the train station in time. We left the accommodation at 7am and had to take a ferry a bus and then 3 trains to get to Aarau, in Switzerland, just after 5pm. ... I started with a glass of WONDERFUL champagne. Eldon ordered us a lovely bottle of Alsatian (from Eguisheim) Pinot Noir for the rest of the dinner.
