... I wasn't that keen to go inside a grotto. But in we went, all ohhhing and ahhing. It was pretty spectacular inside, a cave inside a cave. Expected to see Johnny Depp or his dad, sorely disappointed on that score. It is very "piratey" around these parts and apparently there is a strong, and long, history of piracy in the region. Hence my expectation. From the boat tour we we went walking through the citadel and ...

... me as being a strong hold for the rich and famous - many yachts and restaurants and not much else, harbour-side. But up in the old town it seems the village has a nice "hum" about it. Our hotel is built inside the old citadel and there are many, many, steps down to the harbour, and many, many steps back up. it actually feels like twice as many with some vodka's and red wine your belt. He's a bad influence on Grace and it takes me more than 1hr to get them all kitted up & out of the house. Bet they'll be begging for a beach day when ...

We LOVE Sardinia. It is a very beautiful place, the coastline and beaches are fabulous. Today started off promising a repeat of yesterday's weather - perfect blue skies to match the water and 29 degrees. Just right for experiencing what this part of Sardinia has to offer. I am writing this at the end of our day. We have just driven about 7k's down the road to a place called Portisco. We have parked the car and have walked ...

      The three colours of Sardinia....

Sardinia is divine...it reminds me of so many different things. The landscape is very beautiful and predominately made up of 3 colours: amazing, crystal clear glorious azure blue water, grey rugged granite hills and mountains and muted green shrubs. That's pretty much Sardinia. The architecture here is very different from anything else we have seen around Italy. It has a very Mexican/Spanish feel about it. ...
