I got to have some great conversations with them--about Tenerife wine, Spanish learning, English accents and medical school--and get to wrap up my hospital work. I was so glad to meet all the doctors I met here, and since I never could have seen any of this work in the US, I'm so thankful to them for giving me the opportunity to follow them around. It was her birthday, and her husband had been sleeping in the hospital since the day she arrived (about two weeks--talk about a devoted husband), so she wanted to be able to experience the island and celebrate her day with him. ... ocean floor wasn't even visible anymore--one of the most terrifying/liberating things I've ever done. Luckily the current wasn't that strong where we were, so we all made it out and back to the shore. I had a really good time with the other fellows, and I got an awesome work out and tan, so it was a successful beach day for sure! We had lunch at this little restaurant about an hour away from the beach, where we ate fried chicken and potatoes. It was one of the best meals we've eaten ...
