    ... our way to the LGBT Center and have an interesting chat with the program director. They share a space with the Helsinki Project, and are doing their best in the face of a government which is not at all supportive of their efforts. The space is multi-use, and next time we come they will have a party for us with the local community.

    ... was interesting - the boatman fired up a generator which lit the cave, and they'd put steps in so tourists could go inside and see the insides of the cave. The deepest water underground lake in the cave is 25m deep and people come and scuba dive in there.

    By the time we got back from the boat trip, we had missed the bus back to Skopje I had intended to catch, so we ate in the restaurant - quite expensive, but good food and we only had a couple of days ...

    ... back. It took some 40M. There are no dedicated bike lanes here. Back home there is a day when the garbage goes out but here much of it is placed in large bins. Less than a sprinkle of rain fell. By the time I reached the hotel, looking back behind me was a very dark sky.

    Emails and diary/blog consumed most of the time until dinner. Going out were James and Mary, Penny, U/K, Sue and Catwoman [heretofore Plain Jane re here two cats] and yours truly. Posh Nosh joined ...

    ... Bridge, which is really just a bridge. You can see all of the major monuments on either side, lined up. It's an easy city to visit. It looks pretty in the evening when everything is lit up. The architecture is heavily influenced by Western Europe. I think it's because the Ottomans didn't do much with Skopje until the 19th C, by which time they were westernized.
