    ... Viking before coming to Scenic. Before that she worked as accountant for 10 years for only €200 / month. She said the money on the ship is much better, though Viking paid double to what Scenic does and she felt Viking are the better ships. We said that ocean liners have a bad reputation for paying poorly and having bad conditions for crew. She said this was true but the river cruisers pay much better wages and the conditions are better eg include health cover etc ...

    ... Exited, thanked the lady and made our way back to the village. Checked out the Rathaus, the church and had a stroll around the town. All very nice. It is a Catholic church and is splendid. The alter is magnificent as is the pulpit, pipe organ and side alters. It is in excellent condition.

    Our selected restaurant for dinner proved to be a winner. Two hungry people (no lunch) consumed their Austrian meals of braised steak ...
