The journey was beautiful (and much faster) going down, and the bonus was there were only a couple people in the cable car so we could walk around and catch all the amazing views on the journey back to the Middle station. Left Vienna to the sound of "our" church bells pealing. Great way to greet the morning.

Driving along the autobahn, there are always mountains in view. We keep driving, yet as we follow the valley floors, the mountains remain an enigma in the mist. Strong winds and rain, with the temp dropping to 11*. Looks like summer is over.
