….thirteen hours later and a pretty comfy overnight ferry later where we were pretty organised and took Apollos cushions from the bed up with us (looked a bit silly but VERY comfy for sleeping on the floor of a ferry!) and both got a good few hours shut eye, waking to a bargain 80cent cappuccino and our first sight of Montenegro mountains on the horizon, really exciting stuff, especially as ...
... a light for his cigarette and even told us to plug in the car lighter for him to use. Then he lit up, blew the smoke straight back into the car (delightful) and proceeded to tell us how to get to the hotel. We still stink of the smoke.
We've found a pleasant hotel room that doesn't stink of smoke and you can open the window. Yay!
We travelled around 800 km in this beautiful country.

As you have by now noticed, I'm impressed by old things. Fortresses, old cities, ruins, etc. As I have been moving more or less in clockwise direction from about 12:00 in northern Germany, toward 5:00 in Istanbul, up till now, it may make sense that as I encounter more and more sites they get older and older.
Istanbul certainly set the bar (no pun intended) very high.

This was hugely successful and we got to the front of the queue in 20 minutes or so whereas we saw on the news two days later that people had been waiting for up to 24 hours to cross in some parts.
