      ... it came down to a pretty basic statement. Montenegro is a mostly nice, efficient and effective place that was fun to spend a week, and for that simple pleasure I position it at number 15.

      ... a lovely town but far too hot to be cruising around in the middle of the day exploring!

      Our next stop was Budva, which is a much larger town, with a lot of tourism. The coastline was gorgeous and the city was buzzing with people! We stopped at Budva for a few hours and had lunch and did some exploring.

      ... of the bay. It started raining heavily so we took shelter in a cafe on the beach and happened to be hungry so ordered some lunch.

      As you have by now noticed, I'm impressed by old things. Fortresses, old cities, ruins, etc. As I have been moving more or less in clockwise direction from about 12:00 in northern Germany, toward 5:00 in Istanbul, up till now, it may make sense that as I encounter more and more sites they get older and older.

      Istanbul certainly set the bar (no pun intended) very high.
