    Good service, rooms were comfortable and very authentic seeming.
    In a good part of town with a good view of the city

    ... because an adapted version of them we have today! Da Vince never actually manufactured any of his inventions because he was so busy designing new ones. But, a company called IBM took Leonardo's designs, followed them precisely and made models of what they would have looked like had Leonardo made them! Some ideas you may recognize include a parachute, circular life buoy, flippers, a military tank and even a 3 wheeled car! Pretty amazing!

    Having said that it is actually a strikingly beautiful building dominated by a wonderfully grand double helix stair case inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.

    We enjoyed the cycle in the grounds and back to St Dye some 8km away.

    Thursday 9/18 - today is our big sightseeing day in Amboise. The 1st order of business was to visit the Chateau Royal d'Amboise - this late 15th century chateau was the favored royal residence of Charles VIII.
