      ... and fishing boats as well. As we neared Venice we could see the Alps in the distance and there was snow on the summits of some mountains. Venice is located in a lagoon and the locals moved further into the lagoon to escape Attila the Hun. The areas has a series of island however our motel is on the mainland not far from the port to travel to the island of Venice tomorrow.

      ... where the democracy meet to run the Republic. There are lots of narrow steep streets with many shops. So atmospheric and beautiful. We then drove to our farm BB which was about 20 mins away in a very rural area that looks completely over San Marino. It was a very rough track for the last km leading up to the farm.
